More to Life in Ybor City
Historic Ybor City is Tampa’s Latin Quarter and the bay area’s only national landmark historic district. Over a century ago, it became home to thousands of new arrivals from Cuba, Spain and Italy. These immigrants helped build Ybor City into the Cigar-making capital of the world.
Today’s Ybor City continues to build on that rich past with an eclectic mix of history, heritage, entertainment and excitement. From its brick streets and authentic architecture, this urban oasis offers plenty of historic and newly constructed residential buildings, lofts, flats, townhomes, condos and more, located just off of Ybor City’s main thoroughfare of 7th Avenue.
Individuals, couples or families who want a traditional neighborhood feel with a high energy urban environment and a strong sense of community, will find the district heartwarming. With a safe and walkable district, Ybor City offers a variety of retail stores, restaurants, cafes, museums, galleries, wine bars and night clubs in addition to being conveniently located to the area’s beaches, stadiums, entertainment venues and universities. And downtown Tampa is just a short streetcar ride away!
You will find a broad range of people living in Ybor City too; from doctors to students and business owners to entertainers, there is a nice mix of people that call Ybor City home. Ybor City neighborhood associations are a great way to meet the neighbors and learn more about everything Ybor City has to offer.
