Obama’s historic Cuba trip is boon to Tampa Bay

In just a few weeks, history will be made a few hundred miles off the coast of Florida. It’s been 88 years since a sitting president last visited Cuba. In March, President Barack Obama is set to end that streak. You can’t talk about Tampa history without talking about Cuba. For generations, the pages of La Gaceta in Ybor City have documented and debated the Cuban embargo, but President Obama’s trip is pushing the reset button on U.S./Cuba relations.
