Voices of Ybor

To tell the story and highlight the many voices of Ybor, the Ybor City Development Corporation (YCDC) has partnered with the Digital TV, Radio, Film and Media Production department at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Ybor Campus. HCC students visited key businesses and locations throughout the district for a multi-part series of short-form videos. Each video was shot and produced by the students highlighting their individual artistic styles of storytelling.

Casa Santo Stefano

Shot and produced by Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Digital TV, Radio, Film, and Media Production students, Kim Tang and Ledontay DeAndrade, the video highlights their individual artistic styles of storytelling while shining a well-deserved light on the Sicilian restaurant located in the former Ferlita Macaroni Factory.

Industrious

Shot and produced by Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Digital TV, Radio, Film, and Media Production students, Mauria Hall, Noel Chavez, and Athena Jones, this video highlights how modern workers can come to engage with their community while getting their best work done in this vibrant office located in the former movie theater.

Historic District Modern Business

Shot and produced by Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Digital TV, Radio, Film, and Media Production students, Trevor Williams, Nykuan Mitchell, and Omar Aguilar, this video highlights the casitas that flank Centennial Park and how modern businesses have chosen these historical homes to work and bring vibrancy to Ybor. Businesses highlighted in this video include SCOUT IT, LLC, Sushi House, Ybor City Vegan Deli, FOUNDATION coffee co, Tampa Baseball Museum, and the Ybor Historical Society.
