Ybor City Praised by Judges in Redevelopment Awards

OCT 31st Ybor City received several nods at the 34th Annual Planning & Design Awards in housing, commercial and infrastructure redevelopment.  The event which was held at T Pepin’s Hospitality Centre, and presented by Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas brings in expert judges from outside Hillsborough County to celebrate excellence in planning and design.

This year, judges praised Ybor City’s recent commercial redevelopment for Ashley Global Retail’s E-Commerce headquarters, a collaboration between The Perry Company, AI Collaborative, Diamondback Engineering and Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc.

In housing redevelopment, David Bailey and Stephanie Harrison-Bailey’s micro-development design of their 365 square-foot home, One Little House, stood out to the judges for embracing the historic context while providing state of the art amenities.

Ybor City also took home the Chairman’s Award for the 21st and 22nd Street Urban Modification Project which was recently completed and is already attracting new redevelopment along the corridor.
